Our Curriculum

At Amity International School Amsterdam we place students at the centre of learning. Our programmes are designed to equip our students with the skills necessary to tackle not only the problems of today, but also those of the future.

As an International Baccalaureate (IB) PYP Candidate School we offer a globally recognised curriculum that challenges students to take responsibility for their own learning and encourages them to become active world citizens.

We believe children are skilful communicators and creative problem solvers by nature. We foster curiosity and encourage questions, placing an emphasis on nurturing creativity, innovation and collaboration. Children today need resilience and exceptional critical thinking skills, as well as the confidence to question and reflect. We strive to develop these qualities by creating authentic learning environments and experiences that are both relevant and engaging.

Our school is housed in a spectacular building, which has been refitted to the highest standards and provides students with a unique learning environment. The impressive architecture has been utilised to create large, open and multi-functional learning spaces, as well as an indoor gymnasium, music room and a library. Parks and forests surround the glass building which is flooded with natural light and brings the outdoors into the learning spaces. These green spaces also offer exceptional opportunities to integrate learning with the local environment in a natural and safe setting.

We embrace our own cultures and celebrate the cultural diversity that exists both in our local community and in the world. We learn together and from each other, to develop into open-minded, global citizens that make a positive difference. Our school is an international family where people from all corners of the world come together to support and care for one another. It is our ambition for Amity International School Amsterdam to become the hub of the local community and we look forward to welcoming you and your family.
