All our teachers have experience working with students whose first language is not English and are able to adapt the curriculum in order to support them. We also have a special program for students whose home language is not English and who may require additional support. Based on the student’s language profile and previous educational experience, EAL support is allocated.
We embrace and embody the understanding that meeting the needs of a diverse group of learners starts with high-quality core curriculum and teaching practices. Our Student Support Programme builds on this high-quality curriculum and teaching by providing a range of supports that are tailored to meet the individual needs of students in reading, writing, maths, social-emotional development and functional skills. Amity International School Amsterdam also facilitates in-school access to speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, school psychologists and other local specialists.
Before acceptance to our school a case by case assessment is conducted by our Student Support Coordinator to evaluate whether Amity International School Amsterdam can provide the right support.
